Why I Do This Work

I didn't set out to become a brand photographer and web designer for the wellness industry. I became one because it is a world I genuinely believe in.

For a long time, I've created brands, designed logos, taken portraits of founders and built websites for businesses that needed to be taken seriously online. But my clients never followed the 'hustle harder' philosophy or the fear-based marketing and scarcity tactics so common online, and neither did I. In fact, my work was the antithesis of that.

real. intentional. inspired.

Along the way, I became a Reiki Master and Certified Enneagram Practitioner and opened my own private wellness practice in my studio in Warkworth.

That combination changes how I work. I know what it's like to sit across from someone who needs to trust you before they'll even consider booking a session. I know how hard it is to describe real transformation honestly, without overselling it.

Lola is a nickname and my creative alter ego, and so it became a personal brand name. If you accidentally call me Lola, that's okay, you won't be the first!

What I Believe

Stock photos and vague brand promises don't build real trust, not for you, and not for the people you're trying to help.

The person behind your business isn't a footnote to bury in a small profile pic. It's part of sharing what it's like to work with you.

Line illustration of clients under a heart

Practitioners doing meaningful, transformative work deserve a brand that finally matches the care they already put into their practice.

How I Got Here

A creative heart, a technical head, and a life across continents

I'm a creative empath at heart, but my practical father insisted I study business, so I graduated with a Marketing degree in America. It took me to London, where instead of marketing, I ended up certified to teach technology to companies. That work carried me to New Zealand, where I married a Kiwi engineer, and we became expats, living in Belize, Fiji, the Middle East, and Sri Lanka before settling back in NZ for good.

Early in all that moving, I retrained in the work I always wanted to do: design, branding, and photography. While working as a webmaster for a large global organisation, I learned something fundamental about branding, their company logo alone was valued at around $5M. My camera was never far from my side, so I trained in commercial photography too, an ingredient most website designers skip. I've now been building whole brands from the ground up for over two decades. My websites have won a Webby Award, and my photography has been commissioned for Condé Nast Traveller and published in National Geographic, the NZ Herald, and AA Magazine, among others. I mention it because in a world full of AI-generated images, the one thing no algorithm can fake is a real eye and a real brand story behind the camera.

Today I run Lola Media from my own studio in Warkworth, and together with my business partner Kylie, we operate Radiant Wellness. I'm also subeditor of Reiki News Magazine by Reiki NZ and on the board of the International Enneagram Association of Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

How This Shows Up In Your Brand

Brilliant at the work. Stuck at sharing it.

Here's the thing most of my clients have in common. They're brilliant at their work and stuck at sharing it in a way that feels right. They sit down to write their own website and freeze. They know what their practice does. They just can't find the words.

That translation is the actual skill I bring. I listen for what's underneath your brief, the thing you're really trying to say, and I put it into words and images that carry it. Clients have called our work a partnership rather than a briefing transaction, and that's exactly how I want it to feel.

So if you're dreading the part where you have to explain your brand to someone, don't. That part is my job.
